Usher launches his and hers fragrances

R+B superstar Usher has become the latest celebrity to launch his own scent.

The singer, 28, has spent the past year involving himself in every facet of the cologne-making process to help create Usher:He and Usher:She.

He says, “I wanted to do something for my female fans as well as my male fans. I want to leave everybody feeling right.

“Clothing is coming. There are other businesses and other ventures as an entrepreneur you can look forward to. This is the one that will get directly on your skin.”

Michael Jackson Didn’t Marry His Nanny

LOS ANGELES — Don’t believe the rumors — Michael Jackson did not tie the knot with his family’s nanny, his spokeswoman told “Access Hollywood.”

“Wide spreading reports regarding Michael Jackson being married are not true. Documents stating otherwise are a hoax,” Jackson spokeswoman Raymone Bain told “Access.”

Reports were floating around Thursday that Jackson had married 40-year-old Grace Rwaramba, the nanny of his three children, in Las Vegas earlier this year.

In October 2006, similar rumors linked Jackson and Rwaramba in marriage.

Jackson was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley in 1994 and Debbie Rowe in 1996.

Usher Reveals He And Wife Are Expecting A Boy

A representative for Usher confirmed to MTV News on Wednesday (September 26) that the singer and his wife, Tameka Foster, are expecting a baby boy.

“I just want my son to fully be coherent and to be healthy, first and foremost,” Usher told People magazine on Tuesday. “I’ve found that it is a step-by-step process. You can wish for a million and one things. But I hope that my son has the same energy I had as a child. Hopefully, he won’t be as bad as me. I hope that he’s just a healthy son.”

On “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” last month, the singer said that if the baby is male, he’d like to name him Usher. “If it’s a boy, I’m going to name him Usher,” he said. “I’m hoping to name him that. I’ve been playing with a few names. I’m the fourth: Usher Raymond IV. I just want to pass the name on. Maybe I’ll change the middle name.”

Usher Talks Up New Album — It’s ‘Just About Finished’

 

No title or release date yet, but singer promises: ‘I’m not doing the Dr. Dre to y’all.’

There’s no title and no release date, but Usher says to trust him: He’s not going to make us wait too much longer for his anticipated follow-up to 2004’s multiplatinum Confessions.

“I’m working on my album,” he said via phone from Atlanta on Friday. “It’ll be out, I’m not sure when.

“I’m not doing the Dr. Dre to y’all. I’m not doing the Detox,” he added, jokingly referring to Dr. Dre’s all-too-long-awaited next album. “I’m on my way. I’m actually just about finished. I’ve been working on it all this year amongst all the other things I’ve been doing. It’s been a somewhat tumultuous year for me. But you go through something to get to something. I’m a married man with a baby on the way, you gotta love that. That’s the next major step. A lot of what I plan to offer with this album is kinda standing in this spot. … The king’s back. I ain’t gonna say ‘back,’ I never left.”

Other possible collaborators include Cool & Dre and T-Pain. This week, during personal appearances at Macy’s in New York’s Herald Square, Usher officially launched two fragrances, Usher: He and Usher: She.

“I wanted to do something for my female fans as well as my male fans,” he explained. “I want to leave everybody feeling right. I wanted to shut it all the way down. I felt the only way to get acclimated into this business is to take into account there are two directions you can go into: male or female. Nowadays entrepreneurships start in any direction. I take notes from great designers like Tommy Hilfiger, Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford. These people were able to fully introduce an entire lifestyle brand. Me, I decided to start with fragrance. Clothing is coming. There are other businesses and other ventures as an entrepreneur you can look forward to. This is the one that will get directly on your skin.”

Usher says for the past year and change, he was involved in every facet of the cologne-making process, including the smell and the design of the bottles and boxes. The singer has partnered with Liz Claiborne for his new fragrance.

WILL.I.AM HANGS UP ON MICHAEL JACKSON

Rapper WILL.I.AM thought he was the victim of a prank when he got a call from a man claiming to be MICHAEL JACKSON – so the BLACK EYED PEAS star hung up on him. The My Humps hitmaker – real name William Adams – was so dubious of the authenticity of the phone call, he mocked the Thriller singer and demanded to know the real identity of the caller, before cutting him off. He says, “(Jackson) called me out of the blue. I’m like: ‘How did you get my number?’ Pretty MI5. He was like, ‘What’s up? It’s Michael.’ And I was like: ‘Stop playing around dude. Who is this?’ He’s like: ‘It’s Michael, seriously. No one ever believes me.’ I’m like: ‘Stop playing. I’m hanging up the phone.’ Click!” And the 32-year-old believes anyone else in his position would act in the same way if Jackson ever called them. He adds, “If someone rings you up and says it’s Michael, you ain’t gonna believe them because it’s easy to imitate his voice.”
